Columbia University's Sustainable Development Doctoral Program is pleased to announce its Seventh Annual Summer School in Paris, from 28 May to 1 June 2018, in cooperation with the Alliance institutions of École Polytechnique, Sciences Po, and Université Paris-I Panthéon-Sorbonne.

This year's topic is Research Methods in Sustainable Development, with applications to urban planning, social and economic network analysis, machine learning and big data for international development and climate policy. Each day, the summer school will open with presentations by world-class researchers and policy-makers; the afternoon will be dedicated to practical workshops focused on building skills in cutting-edge quantitative research tools.

The program is geared toward graduate students in economics, environmental science, public policy, and related fields.

We welcome applicants who are interested in these and related topics. This will be an excellent opportunity for participants to exchange and generate new research ideas as well as build academic networks.
